Throughout your life you will want to own many things. The large ones shouldn’t be owned – they should be rented.

All the day to day possessions (clothes, food, books,etc..) can be bought (if you really have to – but keep the volume low – down to say 2 or 3 suitcases).

But the big things – House, Car, Boat, Furniture etc, should be rented.

Generally you will want/need to change them every few years, and usually their value will have decreased. This may not always be the case with a house (sometimes though), nor might it be the case with some unusual boat, car or antique furniture – but generally, when it comes time to change – the price is down.

So!! Why buy something that you will get rid of in a few years, and that has decreased in value? Because "I want it" - see Women are nest builders
