I used to write to a girlfriend in Australia, and her letters were always so enjoyable and exciting....

"Next week we're all going to Fiji, and after that we may book one of those Outback Tours.."

Whereas mine to her, didn't read so well... "Went to the British Grand Prix last week - rained, but good racing, ... how was Fiji?? and did you do the Outback Tour??"

Her letters were always "in the future' - "we're going to do this, and that" - and she usually didn't reply to my "how was Fiji?" questions unless I asked a couple of times - and then the reply was usually - "oh, we didn't go....."

I realised she and I were getting excited by her future life - and in fact she was doing nothing spectacular in the present.

Silly............

Also, you probably know people who love planning...... Brittsy!! you are one!

It appears that they sometimes get more enjoyment out of planning something - than actually doing it.

I shouldn't criticise - if they ENJOY the PRESENT planning of a future event, then fine - but I'd feel happier if they then also enjoyed the event.
