For a nation that enjoys the automobile so much - what a shame that it has an industry which turns out such rubbish (or did).

Its not in the British psyche - to reliably and routinely produce cars that work. They often look, sound and feel good - but invariably let you down - on the road - by breaking down.

In truth, I haven't been interested in cars since about 1980, and up to that time - what I say above is true. Thereafter I don't know.

They should have stuck with what they know/can do (see They can make Yorkshire Pudding) rather than trying to do something beyond their capabilities.
